Another Cherie Johnson Interview!... As promised, I recently did another interview with Cherie Johnson to get all of her fans (and non-fans) up to speed on what she's doing and her experiences in the Entertainment Industry... ME: Hi Cherie, how ya doin'??... Cherie: Fine, thank you... ME: The last time we did an interview, you mentioned that you Wrote and Produced "I Do, I Did", right? Cherie: It was the first time that I produced my own project. I've been a part of others, but this one was mostly me... ME: Did it take some doing?... Cherie: About 3 years. 3 years to get made... ME: Now with you being a celeb and having a name in the Industry, do you think that helped or was an obstacle in getting this made... Cherie: It definitely helped... ME: What about getting acting work in the Industry, are there still obstacles? Cherie: Yes. Many still can't get past the work that I did over 20 years ago and can't deal with the fact that I've grown up. It's like they don't want to see me in any other way... ME: You know, that's funny, because I thought that because you've been in it for a while, it should open up new grownup roles that you can play. Especially with this new generation that might not know about you on "Punky Brewster"... Cherie: Well, "Punky Brewster" just came out on DVD and most of the people buying it are from our generation and buying it for their kids. So many see you and still expect to see that girl... ME: Now, I've been dying to know about this. Have you thought about doing something like "Dancing with the Stars"??... Cherie: No... ME: Awww, why not?!... Cherie: I'm not into "Reality" stuff. I love Acting, I act. I do it, it's my job, and then I go home. "The Surreal Life" approached me before and I told them no. I'm not into that... ME: The reason why I asked, is because I've seen what that show did for Lil Kim and I have to admit, I love the show and thought it kind of opened doors while she was doing it... Cherie: Well, Kim's a Rapper and being up on stage they're mostly into the limelight. I'm not that into being "famous"... I like having multiple personalities and playing one type of role and then another where I'm crying or something... ME: Last time I also asked if you were married or single. Has anything changed?... Cherie: Actually, I'm getting married in August... ME: Cool, that's cool! Do you have any other projects coming up to let your fans know? Cherie: I have a few movies that I've done that is coming up. Also, I have a few songs that I can E-mail you. They are mostly playing on the radio overseas in German and Sweden. In fact, "Family Matters" plays a lot overseas... ME: Is it in English?... Cherie: Yes, I can't speak German. They also showed the movie "7eventy 5ive" and "Killer Weekend" over there... ME: Do you have a Website?... Cherie: Fans mostly visit my MySpace page, so I use that as my website and plus I post up my music there. Facebook is mostly a personal page and people I know mostly go there... ME: And, of course, Twitter which is really popular now... Well, thank you for letting me talk to you again. You're awesome for this. Again I'm a big fan... Cherie: You're welcome... ME: I will post this up at my site and see if I can post up the Trailer for "I Do, I Did" and any other projects you have in the future... Cherie: Thank you, and you have a wonderful day... ME: You too... There was a few other things here and there, but this is bulk of our Interview. I like it when celebs are decent and cool when it comes to stuff like this. I might not be big, but like she said to me before "any press is good press"... I paused for a second when she said she was getting Married. I was gonna try to hook her up with my Brother. Sorry, Bro, maybe we'll see what Tracey Spencer is doing now... He like her, too... Check it out, the DVD will release on August 11th! __________ |
